Ayrve is by no means the finished article, but it is about doing the best we possibly can with the resource we have at the time. It isn't about being perfect, it's about providing a better, more ethical alternative to others on the market. We continuously review the materials and suppliers we use, and are always on the look-out for ways to continuously improve.

Handbags 

  • The faux-leather material is a recycled polyurethane. Post-consumer and pre-consumer waste which would ordinarily end up in landfill is recycled to create this durable, affordable and more sustainable alternative.
  • The inner linings of all bags are made from 100% recycled polyester. Recycled polyester, is produced from discarded plastic bottles, offering an effective means of reducing plastic waste in landfills. The manufacturing process for recycled polyester is significantly more resource-efficient compared to the production of virgin fibers, resulting in lower CO2 emissions.
  • We work with suppliers who prioritise ethical business practices and have placed sustainability at the heart of the materials they source, and the products they produce. 

Packaging

  • The tissue paper is made from recycled, biodegradable materials so that it’s 100% compostable. It is acid-free, sulphur-free, and lignin-free paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and can be composted at home. It is also printed in soy-based inks which fully compost without generating waste or toxins.
  • The boxes are made from recycled card and once the silicone strip has been removed, they can be recycled after use.
  •  The stickers are made with acid-free, FSC-certified paper, printed with soy-based inks and are 100% compostable and recyclable.

Shipping

  • Throughout our supply chain, carbon neutral shipping methods have been used to mitigate the environmental impact.
  • Our delivery partners GoGreenPlus initiative ensures that the delivery of your Ayrve bag is not carbon offset, but carbon inset - this means reducing the carbon emissions within its own supply chain, resulting in an absolute CO²e emissions reduction from the delivery.
